Edwin Smith
Veterinarian & Practice Owner
Dr Edwin Smith graduated in 1989 from the University of Melbourne and headed for the green hills of Korumburra in South Gippsland. After wrestling in the mud with calvings and downer cows for nearly 5 years, Edwin decided to head for the not-so-green hills of Central Victoria. This 3-year stint with mainly dogs cats and horses saw him develop an interest in small animal surgery. The highlight of this time in mixed practice was spaying a 120kg pig! Edwin joined Dr Tom Hart's Niddrie Veterinary Clinic with Dr Anne Woolley as a fulltime associate in June 1997. Edwin enjoys general practice and loves talking to people about their pets. His special interests are general surgery and medicine. Edwin spends as much time as possible at home in Central Victoria with his wife Mandy and three kids, as well as the family's menagerie.

Sharon Pham
Veterinarian
Sharon finally graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2017, after 10 long long years of tertiary studies. She is a local, having gone to high school at what used to be "Niddrie Secondary College". She especially enjoys working with animals of the feline variety, after working at a busy cat shelter for 6 years. When she isn't at the clinic, you can find her in the midst of nature or watching live music.

Amelia
Veterinary Nurse
Amelia is currently studying Certificate IV veterinary nursing and has been with us since 2013, having previously worked at a busy cattery. She has always had a passion for the well-being of animals. She has one cat at home, Bertie, who has the ability to eat half his own bodyweight in a single day! But she also loves and cares for the clinic cat Charlie (who has her wrapped around his little paws), often feeding him morsels from her lunch and dressing him in various outfits. Amelia has got a friendly face, bright smile, and is always up for a good chat.

Alice
Veterinary Nurse
Alice started working with us in 2017. Before then she completed weekly work experience with us at our clinic after returning from a semester abroad at the University of Hawaii. Having completed a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience, she has now achieved her dream of studying Veterinary Medicine. She has two spoodles at home called Jessie and Teddy, although she would have many more pets if she could. Every minute she is not at the clinic or university she is at the beach surfing. She has a soft spot for Beagles but will generally cuddle anything with fur.

Grace
Veterinary Nurse
Grace began working with us in February 2018. She has now completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing through Kangan Institute. She loves to spend time and play around with her two spoilt cats Buddy and Ash, who definately keep her on her toes! In her down time, she enjoys going out into the country to her local barn and riding horses (Amigo is her favourite horse). Grace has a passion for water sports in the summer and skiing in the winter months, otherwise a bit of Netflix is always hard to resist.

Charlie
Charlie is the clinic cat, and enjoys sleeping on the diary whenever we need it. He loves to greet all the cats and dogs as they come in! He's often seen leaping on the front desk to everyone's surprise, and enjoys a pat- however he does sometimes think hands are a hunting game, be warned!
