Edwin Smith
Veterinarian & Practice Owner
Dr. Edwin Smith graduated in 1989 from the University of Melbourne and headed for the green hills of Korumburra in South Gippsland. After wrestling cows and calves in the mud for nearly 5 years, Edwin decided to head for the not-so-green hills of Central Victoria. This 3-year stint with mainly dogs, cats and horses saw him develop an interest in small animal surgery. Edwin joined Dr. Tom Hart's Niddrie Veterinary Clinic as a full-time associate in June 1997. Edwin treats his patients like his own, and loves talking to people about their pets. He loves all aspects of the job. Edwin spends as much time as possible on his land at home in Central Victoria with the family's menagerie of farm animals (cattle, pigs, sheep, lori's and cats), and his beloved Winnie the Frenchie X Aussie Bulldog,

Emily Warfield
Veterinarian
Dr, Emily graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and started her veterinary career with her first year in a mixed practice clinic in New South Wales. Since then, she has worked in a variety of small animal clinics around Melbourne, settling in with us at Niddrie Vet in late 2022. Emily enjoys managing long-term illnesses - skin disease, inflammatory bowel disease, endocrine disorders, and supporting all elderly pets. She has completed further training in veterinary Western Herbal Medicine and is happy to discuss natural options for your pets. When not at the clinic, Emily spends her time with her husband, her two sons, and their beloved cat named Lego Superhero (the kids definitely did not have a say in that one).

Gemma D
Veterinary Nurse
Gemma started working at Niddrie Vet Clinic in February 2022 and has just completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She's a relatively new Melbournian - having moved here in 2021 from her hometown in Darwin. She grew up surrounded by animals (both tame and not so tame) and has always had a passion for their well-being. In early 2023, she adopted a stray cat that was handed into the clinic - now named Selma - so she's officially part of the Nurse Curse Club! She loves meeting pets and won't hesitate to give them a treat or a cuddle.
