Feline vaccination

Vaccinating your cat

Cats should be vaccinated at 6-8 weeks, then boostered 3-4 weeks later and again at 16 weeks. The cats should then be seen yearly for their annual vaccination and healthcheck. We recommend a minimun vaccination with an "F3" vaccination which protects your kitten against feline parvovirus, feline herpes virus, and feline corona virus.

An additional Chlamydia component is frequently used to protect against cat flu, which is called an "f4".

A separate injection is available to protect against FIV, the cat version of AIDS which is transmitted in fighting wounds. This vaccine also needs 3 initial injections of 2-4 weeks apart, which can be timed with your kittens first injections. If your cat is over 6 months of age a quick blood test is required before the vaccine can be given
